For many, the concept of the rule of law remains abstract and distant – and therefore, often incomprehensible. So we set out to change that.

We’re launching a powerful new illustration collection, dedicated to exploring the principles of democracy and the rule of law through the lens of artistic brilliance. Picture this – 10 talented artists armed with pencils and pixels, embarking on a weekend odyssey to reimagine a society where the rule of law reigns supreme and bring it vividly to life through their evocative artworks.

SPRINTS isn't just an artistic rendezvous – it's a strategic intervention in the battle for hearts and minds. Over 48 intensive hours, visual wizards – illustrators, graphic designers, and typographers – converge to craft masterpieces that double as potent campaign materials. Their mission? To challenge norms, provoke thought, and ignite conversations on critical social issues.

My artwork is inspired by the lack of timely action. Some things can’t wait long. Justice must happen now.

At the heart of this edition of SPRINTS lies the paramount principle of the rule of law. It's more than just statutes and scales; it's the bedrock of a functioning democracy. Upholding this principle ensures equality before the law, safeguards fundamental rights, and fosters transparency and trust in governance.

The idea is to put an end to bad practices that drag on and on. It’s time for the game to be played by the rules. The more people play fair the more will follow suit because that too is contagious.
— Nikoleta Nosovska

The resulting collection of illustrations is available online under an open license on TheGreats.co, our unique global platform dedicated to open-licensed socially engaged visuals. All these artworks, published in the Democracy collection on the platform, are free for non-commercial use and adaptation by nonprofits, activists and educators, to bolster their campaigns for justice, accountability, and human rights.

The illustrations show the positive message of transformative change in the justice system. Building “muscle” takes time and demands discipline and a vision for the future.
